Construction

When creating this image I decided to use a black bold line at the top to make it look like it has a bold border and also to help the white quote stand out and look powerful to catch the attention of the consumer. I used this font because I wanted to follow a pattern of from the magazine advert and the front cover of the digi pack by using the same font for the quotation so that it is recognised throughout all of my construction.
I put the quote from NME because this is a convention of most music magazines as people who are interested in their music like to see what other music magazines have said about certain artists, songs and albums.

I decided to lay out my track list in this muddle up way because I thought it looked very different and would catch my audience’s attention as they would have to concentrate more to understand the correct numbers to the correct tracks. This design is effective because it comes across as if it was laid out very quickly and this is why it looks scruffy when really it took a lot of time to get it to be laid out in this way. Most albums have they track listings put in a very straight forward way whereas this is unusual and does not follow the normal conventions.

When making my front cover of my digi pack, I started off when a normal image I took of the band who I have used throughout my production ‘motion tourist’ which I then edited in photo shop and gave it a sepia tone to suggest that the image is an old image of a band from years ago so that it looks classic whereas the band are really a young band but make music which still sounds old and the bands there are similar to are old band such as the smiths so this gives a nice effect which will also catch the audience attention. Because I liked the way this looked I continued to use the sepia tone throughout my digi pack so used similar colours for the inside of the album and also used it for the magazine advert. This was a perfect way to link the two which also meant it included the idea of the band been a new young band yet play music typically for an older generation of music set back in the 70s and 80s.

I made my head line for the front of the album with the name of the band going along the top very bold but very plain which is effective as they is a lot going on in the image, this is a typical convention of a bands album as it does not make the album look messy or as if to much is going on.

After taking shots of the band in action I managed to get a very nice picture of the lead singer’s convers trainers as he was sat on a stool whilst playing. Also the you can see the wires of the amps and things on the floor behind, I changed some of the colours and also went for the sepia colouring to the wires to continue with the idea of the having this colour as a pattern throughout. I kept copy and pasting them to make the look of titles to give a different sharp look that straight away catches the attention of the target audience. Considering convers shoes are the type of clothing the age group of people my music is targeted at would wear, and also the fact that it is the actual image of the lead singer also gives it a different nice idea of it being cool.

For my inside sleeve of my digi pack, I researched digi packs and looked at CD albums I had at home to see what the normal conventions were and what other digi packs had on the inside sleeve of there had. I noticed that many other albums had images and bits of information on the band or on the artist on this part. So I decided to do the same, I took some images of the band together and put the names of the members of the bands along with the band name. I did this to show who the members where on all the pictures. I also used a back ground colour to the pictures of the sepia idea with the yellow old kind of tone to continue the same pattern and idea on.
